Lauren Baker CortezAtlanta Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Atlanta Licensed Professional Counselor, Lauren Baker Cortez, is a faith-based counselor specializing in guiding women and couples through the ups and downs of marriage, the challenges of relationships, and life’s transitions. Lauren has served clients in the metropolitan Atlanta area for the last seven years. Her practice is built on trust, wise and pragmatic counsel, and professionalism.
In 2004, Lauren earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University. Upon graduating, she moved to Washington D.C. where she learned the intricacies of, and served others, influencing family policy. Inspired by her experience on Capitol Hill, Lauren pursued a career in counseling attending Richmont Graduate University where she received a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Throughout her post-graduate studies, Lauren served as a marriage and family therapy intern for several large churches throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area focusing on a variety of issues like: life transitions (which she commonly refers to as “those tough seasons of life”), relationship concerns, marital satisfaction, anxiety, boundaries, sexual trauma, recovering from break-ups, self-esteem, and personal growth. Lauren began her career as an Associate Therapist at Hope Counseling Center and as an Access Center Clinician with Ridgeview Institute. In 2012, she became an independent Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor in Atlanta.
Lauren opened Revive in 2014. Her engaging personality, gentle nature, and calm demeanor creates a safe environment where trust is built through genuine honesty and authenticity. She is an encourager; not one to pass judgment, nor one to please. Her passion is her clients: walking alongside of them, serving them, and empowering them to make healthy decisions for themselves.
When not at Revive, Lauren enjoys running and exercising, reading, cooking, tasting great wine and spending time with her husband, Gordon, and their dog, Beasley. Lauren travels to India as part of a team that works with women who are rescued from forced prostitution and slavery. Whether through missions or Revive, Lauren enjoys the opportunity to encourage others and she would be honored to work with you.
